The book sits open on my lap.
किताब मेरी गोद में खुली है।
I turn a page slowly.
मैं धीरे से पन्ना पलटता हूँ।
The sound is soft, like a friend.
आवाज़ मुलायम है, जैसे कोई दोस्त हो।
Outside, the world is busy.
बाहर दुनिया व्यस्त है।
But here, time moves at its own pace.
लेकिन यहाँ समय अपनी चाल से चलता है।
I don't need to finish the book tonight.
मुझे आज रात किताब खत्म करने की ज़रूरत नहीं।
I just want to be with these words.
मैं बस इन शब्दों के साथ रहना चाहता हूँ।
They feel warm and true.
वे गर्म और सच्चे लगते हैं।
My cat curls up next to me.
मेरी बिल्ली मेरे पास सिकुड़ कर बैठ जाती है।
She purrs, and I read aloud.

The lamp glows yellow on the table.
