My colleague did not understand my point.
同僚が私の言いたいことを理解してくれなかった。
I tried again with a new angle.

I said, "Let us try another approach."
「別のやり方で考えてみましょう」と言った。
Then I used a simple example.
それから、簡単な例を使った。
"Imagine it like a puzzle," I said.
「パズルのように考えてみてください」と言った。
He thought for a moment.
彼は少し考えた。
Then his face lit up.
すると、彼の顔がぱっと明るくなった。
"Does that make it clearer?" I asked.
「これでわかりやすくなりましたか？」と尋ねた。
He nodded and smiled.
彼はうなずいて笑った。
We finished the task together.
