I open my bag and look at the empty space.
バッグを開けて、空っぽの空間を見る。
Soon I will fill it with clothes and things.
もうすぐ服や物でいっぱいになる。
But I know I can only take so much.
でも、持って行けるのは限られている。
Every item I choose means leaving something else behind.
選ぶもの一つひとつが、何かを置いていくことだ。
I pick up a book, then put it down.
本を手に取って、また置く。
Will I need it where I am going?
行く先で本当に必要だろうか？
I do not know the answer.
答えは分からない。
Packing feels like saying goodbye to old habits.
荷造りは、古い習慣に別れを告げるようなものだ。
Each fold of a shirt is a small release.
シャツをたたむたびに、小さな解放がある。
I leave room for something I cannot see yet.
まだ見えない何かのために、スペースを空けておく。
Maybe that is the point of going somewhere new.
多分それが、新しい場所へ行く意味なのだ。
Not to carry everything, but to trust the empty space.
全てを持ち運ぶのではなく、空白を信じること。
