My desk lamp glows yellow at midnight.

I have one more email to write.

But my eyes feel dry and heavy.

I close the laptop lid softly.
मैं लैपटॉप का ढक्कन धीरे से बंद करता हूँ।
The screen goes dark like a sigh.
स्क्रीन एक आह की तरह अंधेरी हो जाती है।
I press my palms against my tired face.
मैं अपनी हथेलियाँ थके चेहरे पर रखता हूँ।
Then I push my chair back and stand.

I walk to the kitchen for warm water.

The mug feels good in my fingers.
मग मेरी उंगलियों में अच्छा लगता है।
I sit on the sofa without my phone.
मैं बिना फोन के सोफे पर बैठता हूँ।
The room hums with the fridge sound.
कमरा फ्रिज की आवाज़ से गूंजता है।
I realize: I chose to stop.
