I was a little nervous explaining the home care.

The family looked overwhelmed.

I took a breath and slowed down.
Respirei fundo e diminuí o ritmo.
"The three things to remember are..." I said.
"As três coisas para lembrar são..." eu disse.
I listed them slowly.
Listei devagar.
"If you notice redness or swelling, call us."
"Se você notar vermelhidão ou inchaço, nos ligue."
I pointed to the number on the paper.
Apontei para o número no papel.
"Shall I write that down for you?" I asked.
"Quer que eu anote isso para você?" perguntei.
The daughter nodded.
A filha concordou com a cabeça.
I wrote simple words, not medical terms.
Escrevi palavras simples, sem termos médicos.
They relaxed a bit.
Eles relaxaram um pouco.
I felt hopeful they would remember.
Senti esperança de que eles lembrariam.
