Making home care easy to remember

I needed to explain home care to a patient's family.

They looked a bit worried.

I wanted it to be simple.

I said, "The three things to remember are medicine, food, and rest."

Then I added, "If you notice a fever, call us right away."

They nodded, but I saw their hands shake.

So I asked, "Shall I write that down for you?"

Their face relaxed.

I wrote the steps on a small card.

Now they had something to hold.

That small card gave them confidence.

I felt glad I asked.
