Today, my neighbor’s daughter showed me something.
今日、隣の娘さんが何かを見せてくれた。
She was trying to tie her shoelaces.
彼女は靴ひもを結ぼうとしていた。
Her fingers moved slowly, with full focus.
指はゆっくり、集中して動いていた。
She failed many times, but did not give up.
何度も失敗したけど、諦めなかった。
I felt my own impatience rise inside me.
自分の中に苛立ちがわいてきた。
Then I saw her smile after a small success.
でも、小さな成功のあとに彼女が笑った。
That smile told me to slow down.
その笑顔が「ゆっくりでいい」と教えてくれた。
Children do not rush for results.
子どもは結果を急がない。
They enjoy the process, step by step.
一歩ずつ、過程を楽しむ。
I want to learn that from her.
私も彼女からそれを学びたい。
Maybe patience is not a skill, but a gift.
忍耐は技術ではなく、贈り物かもしれない。
A gift we can give back to ourselves.
自分自身に返せる贈り物。
