I remember my heart was beating fast.
我记得我的心跳得很快。
I was at a small café in Paris.

A woman asked me for the time.
一位女士问我时间。
I wanted to answer in English.
我想用英语回答。
But my mouth felt dry.
但我的嘴很干。
I took a slow sip of water.

Then I said, 'It is three o'clock.'

She smiled and said thank you.

That was all. But it was big.

I felt a small victory inside.

Now I talk to strangers more.

Each time gets a little easier.
