I remember my first time speaking English to a stranger.

My heart was beating fast.

I was at a coffee shop in Bangkok.
ฉันอยู่ที่ร้านกาแฟในกรุงเทพ
A foreigner asked me for directions.
ชาวต่างชาติถามทางฉัน
I felt nervous but also excited.
ฉันรู้สึกกังวลแต่ก็ตื่นเต้น
I took a deep breath and started talking.
ฉันหายใจลึกแล้วเริ่มพูด
The words came out slowly at first.

But he smiled and understood me.

That smile gave me confidence.
